Innovative Educators Conference is a 2-day conference for teachers that will highlight best practices in innovative teaching strategies that foster the competencies and mindsets that learners need to thrive in today’s rapidly changing, globalized world.
If your application is successful, you will receive a confirmation email and then start the registration process. Participation in this conference will earn you 15 SACE CTPD points.
The workshops, accommodation, and catering will be offered to you at no cost. A fee of R250 will solidify your placement and cover your materials.

Current classroom teachers and community educators will be leading the workshops, showcasing 21st Century Skills currently in practice in South Africa. This could be you!!
Workshop sessions will look and feel like classroom simulations. All attendees will be constantly engaging as learners, practicing 21st Century Skills.
Accommodation, catering, and the conference are free for attendees. A fee of R250 will solidify placement and cover essential materials.
The conference will be a hive of continual learning amongst teachers in SA, the United States, and other countries. Professional networking and the sharing of successful practices will continue beyond the conference.
Podcasters, videographers, artists, and storytellers will be sharing and documenting our experiences, so an array of opportunities will be available to share your experiences and views with major players and stakeholders that will determine the future of education in SA.
Jackie Carnow
With 40 years of high school classroom and management experience in South Africa, Jackie believes that empowering teachers is key to driving change in the South African education system. This has led her to coach novice teachers whom she supports in their classroom practices. She is particularly passionate about promoting 21st Century skills through learner-centered environments that foster student engagement. Holding a Master of Education (MEd) from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, she is currently researching a conceptual framework for teaching critical thinking in South African high schools.
Jeremiah Rosenfels
With over 24 years of experience in education, Jeremiah has taught subjects including humanities, history, economics, government, psychology, global leadership, ethnic studies, and critical service learning in both public and private schools across the USA and in the global education sector. He holds a Master’s Degree in International Education from New York University and is passionate about comparative education and exploring best practices across diverse community contexts. Since 2017, he has been involved in supporting educational impact programs while filmmaking in the Cape Flats, notably at Lavender Hill High School.

Yes! There will be opportunities for remote attendance offered through a webinar link, and there will be future opportunities to attend in 2026.

Each attendee will pay R250, which will grant them 2 days of conference attendance, fully catered meals, swag, and the opportunity to win awards.

The highlights will be a series of workshops that will feel like classroom simulations, led by attendees who want to share how they are utilizing 21st Century Skills in the classroom. There will also be breakout workshops where teachers will design new lessons and share their creations with other attendees to receive feedback. Evenings will include networking opportunities, the screening of Rising Tides documentaries, and downtime in your room.

Transportation from other provinces and within the Western Cape is not included in the services of the conference.
